To be honest Lukas, my postings tend to be in order of what forum I just happen to have open at the time! If I've got OJC open and I start looking on eBay, OJC gets it first, but if Autoshite is open at the time it goes on Autoshite first. There's no real preference system at work, I just like to make sure the content gets to all the relevant parties. Some postings on Autoshite are copied from OJC too and obviously there is content exclusive to both forums. So there's no conspiracy theory, it's just the way forums are.
hi, new to this site n cant for the life of me figure out how to put a picture on my posting, im sure uve been asked this b4 but please excuse me if ive missed somewhere on how to do it thanks retrorigg
I am just curious if there is any news regarding the development of OJC.com. The forum is fantastic as always, but I remember at the beginning, when I first joined here, there were for example press-pictures to download and plans to make an OJC-sticker for our cars! Will this sections be online in the future or is oldjapanesecar.com now "only" the fantastic forum?
In the last weeks and month, some new members popped up, wrote one or two postings and disappeared again. That´s not what I call good manners.
To me, a forum is like a regulars' table. If you show up in a tavern or a pub to take part at this regulars' table, you don´t go there the first time, start talking about something immediately and disappear again without even saying "Hello" or something...
Wouldn´t it be nicer if new members that want to take an active part in our community introduce themselves? They don´t have to tell the story of their lifes, but an introduction like "Hi, my name is ******, I´m from ******** and I drive/am interested in/would like to know more about ***** " would be nice, don´t you think?
Lukas, I was probably guilty of this when I first encountered this site. In hindsight this was probably due to 2 reasons,
A ,I was/am a techno muppet and had no idea of forum protocol.
B, I attend a lot of car shows and I find a bunch of enthusiasts, previously unknown to each other, soon start talking about cars, irrespective of having been introduced, and I brought this attitude with me to this forum.
I have noticed the occasional poster wanting advice/parts etc. post and disappear, but a forum, like a pub, has its 'every nighter's' and also irregular locals. John.
I thought about the OJC-Files and thought it might be nice to save them on a easily-visible place, because they are very interesting collections of facts and pictures about rare cars and they should´nt get lost. I think it would be the best if we stick them on top like the "The Rules and FAQs"-thread or what do you think?
