The GC does steer and stop better than its contemparies, and there are reports of the era to prove it. You'd have to get a very early (Y/A reg) model to not have power steering. Crown Prince Maz (Aug 83) not only had no power steering but also had worn rack bearings (or something) that made it handle like a rampant elephant with the horn. Needless to say, on my first encounter with a roundabout King Maz nearly finished upside down.
Alain Delon has to swerve his 626 around in any advertisement he features in, it's the law.
